The Sports Show has announced its support of four official charity partners; Access Sport, StreetGames, Sported and Sports Aid.
Thousands of tickets have been made available to these charity partners to distribute via programmes to ensure that the event attracts and serves a broad and inclusive range of visitors.
In addition, The Sports Show has also named new ambassadors, including Martin Johnson, David Weir and Darcey Bussell, with the number of former and current sporting heroes to take part in the event now at 100.
The show has been created to inspire kids and families to take part in sport and offer them the opportunity to discover their sporting passion. 35 sporting partners have signed up to attend the show with more than 20 delivering both the able bodied and disability disciplines of their sport.
Taking place at the NEC in Birmingham over the weekend of 25th – 26th June, the Sports Show has signed 100 former and current sporting heroes to take part in the event, coaching and playing alongside the kids and families. Rugby World Cup winners Martin Johnson, Will Greenwood and Maggie Alphonsi, Paralympians Ade Adepitan, Will Bayley and David Weir CBE are just some of the names who have signed up.
CEO, Sported, Chris Grant commented: “The Sports Show celebrates so much that’s brilliant about sport – passion, friendship and, most importantly, fun! Sported is delighted to be a charity partner for the event. Thanks to the Sports Show’s support, more young people across the UK will get the chance to enjoy the life-changing effects of community sport.”
Sports Show founder and Rugby World Cup winner, Will Greenwood, said: “I have played sport for as long as I can remember and grew up with rugby all around me, but I have always been keen to try my hand at anything and that is what we want to offer all the kids and parents coming to the Sports Show.”
