Some of the UK’s top football managers have been placing their bets on day one of Cheltenham to raise money for NSPCC.
Alan Pardew, Chris Hughton, Harry Redknapp, Tony Pulis and Gordon Strachan have all placed their bets for Day 1 of the William Hill NSPCC Cheltenham Challenge in a bid to raise £50,000 for the charity.
The managers, who will have a kitty of £1,000 per day, are joined by Phil Taylor, Alan Shearer, Robbie Savage and BBC commentator John Motson in the challenge.
Hughton and Pulis have both gone for Rock on Ruby in the Arkle Chase, whilst Redknapp hopes Hurricane Fly will finish first in the Champion Hurdle. Savage, however, has tipped My Tent or Yours to win the 3.20pm race.
On the final day (Gold Cup Day) they will bet with £2,000 instead of £1,000. Each will be provided with a selection of tips from high-profile racing experts to help them raise as much money as possible for the NSPCC.
William Hill will be supplying daily updates throughout the festival and charting the success of the stars and their bets.
