Creative multimedia agency Sportsbeat have been appointed by the British Olympic Association and the British & Irish Lions to develop content for their respective audiences, while James Parsons has been appointed new managing director of the agency.
Sportsbeat, who specialise in creating shareable content for brands and sports, have been tasked with generating a range of videos and articles to drive engagement with consumer audiences.
Their brief with the British Olympic Association includes a focus on social media and assisting with pre and post Games media services, including the design and production of the team handbook and acting as part of Team GB’s Sochi-based news team.
James Toney, managing editor, Sportsbeat said: ‘We have a trusted reputation for delivering high-quality content across multimedia platforms for our clients, and the BOA and the British & Irish Lions are two of the most prestigious brands in British sport.’
Meanwhile, Sportsbeat has made changes to the senior management team with James Parsons appointed as managing director of the agency.
This follows strong trading for the first half of the year which saw agency billings increase 30% year-on-year thanks to a focus on using Sportsbeat’s coverage of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics as a springboard for future success.
Parsons said: ‘Following a very positive start to 2013, it is the right time for Sportsbeat to make changes to the senior structure. My appointment as Managing Director will allow me to work more broadly across several areas of business operations in particular strategy and business development as we grow our digital and video services.’
In the past 12 months, Sportsbeat have developed and delivered content for leading brands and events including London 2012, Sainsbury’s, Lloyds, HSBC, Aviva, BT, SSE, Camelot, RBS and P&G amongst many others.
