Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Daniel Levy has stepped down from his position as Executive Chairman, bringing to an end nearly 25 years at the helm of the club.

During his tenure, Levy oversaw a period of huge transformation, establishing Spurs as one of world football’s most recognised clubs.

The team has competed in European competitions for 18 of the last 20 seasons and invested heavily in its future through the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium and training complex, as well as continuous support for its academy and squads. On the pitch, Spurs enjoyed several notable achievements, most recently lifting the Europa League trophy.

As part of a wider succession strategy, the club has already made key leadership appointments in recent months. Vinai Venkatesham has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer, while Thomas Frank was named men’s head coach and Martin Ho was appointed women’s head coach. In addition, Peter Charrington recently joined the board and will now serve as Non-Executive Chairman.

Reflecting on his departure, Levy said “I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level. More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.

“I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn’t always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.”

Charrington paid tribute to Levy’s contribution, adding “I am very honoured to become Non-Executive Chairman of this extraordinary Club and, on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Daniel and his family for their commitment and loyalty to the Club over so many years.”

The club also confirmed that there are no changes to its ownership or shareholder structure.
