Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has appointed Wasserman Media Group (WMG) as its exclusive partner to co-ordinate the worldwide sales process for the naming rights to its proposed new stadium to be built in London.
WMG, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, and has offices in London, will work with Tottenham Hotspur chairman, Daniel Levy, and the club’s own commercial partnerships team to secure the new sponsorship agreement.
Daniel Levy said: ‘We expect WMG to extend the work and reach of our own team, support our existing ongoing discussions with potential partners, and to co-ordinate interest from third parties as we continue our global search for a naming rights partner.
‘WMG has been involved in some of the world’s largest and most innovative naming rights deals on both sides of the Atlantic and we are looking forward to working with them.’
WMG will commence work on the Tottenham Hotspur naming rights assignment with immediate effect and plans to utilise its network of offices and sales staff in key territories across the world.
Tottenham Hotspur recently submitted its planning application for the proposed new stadium to the London Borough of Haringey following two successful public consultations.
WMG has been involved in numerous naming rights assignments from KODAK Theatre and STAPLES Centre in Los Angeles to the Emirates Stadium deal in London.
