Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have signed a long-term extension to their partnership with MBNA that will see the company remain the north London club’s official UK credit card partner until the end of the 2018/19 season.

MBNA, which will roll out a Spurs-themed credit card as part of the new deal, has been a partner of the club since November 1998.

Spurs’ head of partner services, Fran Jones, said of the deal: ‘We are delighted to be extending our long-standing association with MBNA for a further five seasons.’

‘This is testament to the great relationship that we have built over the past 16 years.’

To mark the extension of this relationship, Tottenham Hotspur and MBNA have launched a new credit card offer where fans can receive a complimentary 2014/15 third shirt, released earlier this month, by successfully applying for the new credit card and spending £200 in the first 90 days of opening the account.

Michael Donald, commercial and customer experience executive for MBNA, added: ‘Over the years, we have forged a fantastic relationship with Tottenham Hotspur and we are delighted to be able to make this new offer available for UK-based fans. We will continue to work together to develop products that offer supporters great value and also contribute to the future of the club.’

Earlier this week the football club announced the launch of MySpurs, a new digital membership programme for its international supporters.
