Tottenham Hotspur are pressing forward with plans to expand the capacity of
their White Hart Lane stadium and have approached one of the key men behind the
construction of rival club Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium to help.

Tony Winterbottom, formerly of the London Development Authority and a central
figure in the creation of the Emirates Stadium, is now helping Tottenham with
the expansion plans.

The project to increase the capacity of White Hart Lane to 52,000 is believed
to cost in the region of £300m of which £150m would be borrowed.

The scenario would also mean the club would be forced to vacate White Hart
Lane for two seasons, with options including a possible ground share with
neighbours West Ham or the use of the new Wembley Stadium.
