Tottenham Hotspur has signed an innovative new shirt sponsorship agreement with Autonomy Corporation PLC that sees the infrastructure software company become the club’s shirt sponsor during Premier League games only.
The deal means that Tottenham’s shirt sponsorship for the FA Cup, Champions League and Carling Cup is still up for grabs in a specially put together ‘cup package’ that the club is offering.??
The club’s decision to split the sponsorship packages could be financially beneficial as the deal with Autonomy is worth £20m over two years and the ‘cup package’ could bring in a similar figure.??
Tottenham is in discussions with several brands regarding the cup shirt sponsorship opportunity.
Other Premier League clubs will bear new sponsors on their shirts this season with Liverpool agreeing a deal with £80m four-year deal with Standard Chartered and Aon Corporation’s deal with Manchester United also beginning.
