Spyker F1 Auctions Sponsorships On Ebay

The Spyker F1 team has come up with an innovative way of selling sponsorship on
its cars, offering up slots to the highest bidder via online auction firm eBay.

Spyker F1 is offering the four main exposure points on the team’s car up for
auction with the slots ranging in starting price from €500,000 to €3m.

The auction, which is being done through digital agency Media Republic, will
run until midnight on 16th April.

Bas Verhart, CEO Media Republic, said: ‘Spyker Formula One is a challenger
brand with global potential. We believe there are many people out there who’d
like to be involved ‘from the beginning’ of this long-haul success story.

‘Of course we’re expecting some corporate interest, but we also think that
this is a unique opportunity for all those eccentrics and philanthropists out
there, who want to propose marriage in-style, support their chosen charity or
highlight just causes.’
