The Playbook has been appointed to promote annual corporate running event, the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay. The ten-mile team race will take to the streets of London’s financial district once again on 22nd September.

The Playbook will build engagement with the race amongst influencers, recruiting journalists to run on the day and driving media coverage of the race which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2016 and since the first race in London in 2007, has expanded to seven countries and four continents.

The win is the first piece of new business for The Playbook since its July launch, sitting alongside a founding client roster which includes NFL UK, the England and Wales Cricket Board, Henley Royal Regatta and Wildbunch Media, the publishers of Men’s Running and Women’s Running.

Eddie May, managing director, The Playbook said: “This is a great event and helping to get more people involved is right up our street – we’re all about campaigns that move people.  We’re looking forward to helping inspire more teams to sign up for the race on 22nd September.”

James Hassett, executive director, Square Mile Sport said “After meeting The Playbook team, we could quickly see that they had the expertise and enthusiasm to match our own ambitious plans for this year’s Bloomberg Square Mile Relay. The London course always sets an exciting challenge for the runners and I look forward to seeing the winning team set the pace for the other six cities in our global race series to chase.”
