Super Skills Travel, the holiday sports training company founded by England rugby icons Will Greenwood and Austin Healey, has added a new Cricket Academy to its offering for 2012, with children able to learn from cricketing legends Alec Stewart, Michael Vaughan and Paul Nixon.
The company has also revealed that Martin Johnson, the legendary Rugby World Cup 2003 winning captain and former England coach, has joined its rugby coaching team for this summer.
Stewart, the most capped English cricketer ever, Vaughan, England’s most successful Test captain, and Nixon, famous for his energy and enthusiasm behind the stumps, will coach children aged 5-16 years old as part of the programme, seeking to replicate the success Greenwood, Healey and their peers have had with the company’s Rugby Academy. As well as the launch of the new programme, the company has also unveiled a new website – www.superskillstravel.com – and full details of its 2012 offerings.
Super Skills Travel provides children with sports training from some of the world’s leading sports stars within a luxury family holiday setting. After the success of the Rugby Academy, which has also involved star names such as Jason Leonard and Jason Robinson alongside Greenwood and Healey, the Cricket Academy will be based at Forte Village Resort in Sardinia.
‘More and more families are looking for new ways to get their kids off the sofa and playing sport, and Super Skills Travel gives them new skills, a boost in confidence and memories that will last a lifetime,’ said Greenwood. ‘Some of the most special moments in my life have come on a rugby pitch and I’m sure the same will be true for many of these kids in the future.’
