Sportswear brand Umbro has been announced as the official kit supplier for the Star Sixes tournament.
Umbro, technical kit suppliers to more than 120 clubs, has designed the strips that will be worn by all 12 nations during the six-a-side world cup for legends at The O2, London, 13th – 16th July.
The stars representing England, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Nigeria, Mexico, Scotland, Denmark and China will compete for the Star Sixes trophy in kits produced by the British brand.
Umbro already has links to several of the footballers on show, having supplied boots to the likes of England’s Michael Owen, Brazil’s Roberto Carlos and Portugal’s Deco during their professional careers.
Organised by Pitch International (London), in partnership with Football Champions Tour, a sports management agency, Star Sixes will reunite the world’s greatest players in their national team colours.
Other footballers that will be wearing Umbro during four days of competition include Steven Gerrard, Rivaldo, Alessandro Del Piero, Carles Puyol, Robert Pires, Michael Ballack, Deco and Jay-Jay Okocha.
Neil Bailey, CEO of Star Sixes said: “Umbro are renowned across the globe for their cutting edge kit design and we’re delighted to welcome them on board as an official partner of Star Sixes.
“The high quality of the strips they have produced for each of the 12 nations, which we look forward to unveiling in the coming days, is in keeping with the calibre of world-class players competing on the Star Sixes stage.”
