Strava has acquired Runna, a UK-headquartered company specialising in personalised running training plans and coaching.

The acquisition marks a strategic move by Strava to expand its offering in the rapidly growing running segment, particularly in the UK, where participation in organised races has continued to increase.

Runna has developed technology that delivers customised training plans to runners at all levels and has built a user base among athletes seeking structured, coach-led progression.

Strava maintains over 150 million registered users globally, with running now the platform’s fastest-growing activity.

The acquisition of Runna supports Strava’s ongoing investment in connected training solutions and its broader API ecosystem, which already integrates with over 100 third-party apps.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, and financial details have not been disclosed.

Dom Maskell, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Runna, said, “We are delighted to become part of Strava as we continue to focus on bringing the world the most customised and personalised training plans available.

“We have spent many hours together with Strava senior management and we couldn’t be more excited to be on the same team,”
