Global exercise network, Strava, has launched a new campaign celebrating the shared experience of athletes around the world through its new #GiveKudos advertising campaign.

A recent independent study at Glasgow Caledonian University of more than 8,000 athletes reported that 69% using Strava had a positive impact on their happiness, and 83% said that Strava improved their motivation to exercise.

#GiveKudos is a continuation of the brand’s sentiment that started with the #AthletesUnfiltered campaign, highlighting the values of the community.

Developed with Stink Studios, #GiveKudos is the first time the company has used digital and out-of-home advertising as a significant component of a marketing campaign that includes print and digital ads, videos, a suite of stickers and filters and a campaign website, givekudos.strava.com.

Meanwhile, ads will also appear on billboards, street-level barricades, bus stops and bike share stations throughout London, Paris, San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles.

James Quarles, CEO of Strava, said: “In our best moments, our community is cheering people on and motivating them to live healthy, active lives. We’re convinced that people keep people active, and we designed #GiveKudos to fuel this spirit.”

Strava’s global athletic community currently grows by one million new members every 30 days, with athletes sharing over 15 million activities per week, spanning 32 activity types including running, hiking, cycling and backcountry skiing.
