StubHub, America’s largest secondary ticketing marketplace, has unveiled a new UK sporting partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to become the official ticket marketplace for three UK grass court tennis events: The Aegon Championships at The Queens Club, The Aegon Classic, Birmingham and The Aegon International, Eastbourne.
As part of the three-year deal, tennis fans in the UK will be able to safely buy and sell tickets for matches of the tournaments on stubhub.co.uk, with all the tickets listed on the website available for purchase for fans across the globe.
The agreement also provides StubHub with on-site branding opportunities, a brand and content presence on all three tournaments’ websites and other marketing and communications channels including editorial, social media and CRM channels, access to VIP fan experiences and on-site collection points.
This will be the sixth high profile sporting partnership signed by StubHub since its UK launch in March 2012, after confirming deals with Premiership Rugby’s Leicester Tigers, the NBA in the UK, and Barclays Premier League sides Tottenham, Everton and Sunderland.
Nick Harford, director of partnerships, International for StubHub said: ‘We are proud to be partnering with the LTA for the first time and look forward to providing tennis fans access to some of the most prestigious events of the grass court season.’
‘The StubHub.co.uk site will provide fans with a safe and secure place to buy and sell tickets for the LTA’s three high profile grass court tennis tournaments featuring some of the leading international tennis players, backed by our FanProtectTM Guarantee and world leading customer service. We will be working closely with the LTA to create some truly unique and memorable fan experiences in and around the events.’
Lawrence Robertson, commercial director of the LTA added: ‘We’re delighted to welcome a company of StubHub’s pedigree into our sponsor family. Not only do they bring their experience and knowledge of the ticketing marketplace to the table but through our partnership, tennis fans will gain access to a wide range of experiences and events across the UK and beyond.’
