Sunderland has announced online betting company Dafabet as their new shirt sponsor from the start of the 2015-16 season.
Dafabet, who have supported Aston Villa for the past two seasons, will take over from food distribution organisation Bidvest as official sponsors of the Premier League side.
Sunderland AFC issued a club statement outlining that Dafabet would support the club’s local initiatives and charities as part of the partnership.
The deal will also see Dafabet promoted throughout Sunderland’s Stadium of Light during match days, with the betting brand receiving further promotion on the Black Cat’s digital and social channels.
Margaret Byrne, chief executive, Sunderland AFC, commented on the partnership: “We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with Dafabet.
“Our regional identity sits proudly at the heart of Sunderland AFC but increasing our global footprint is also key as we look to continue to grow and strengthen the football club for the future.
“Our partnership with Dafabet will open up new markets for us and we welcome them warmly to our Sunderland family.”
