Sunset + Vine has appointed David Tippett as its new Managing Director.
Tippett will work alongside current Sunset + Vine Executive Chairman Jeff Foulser, to oversee the day-to-day running of the company, and will continue to lead the team that will deliver the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games Host Broadcast operation.
Previously Head of Broadcast for the producer, Tippett will bring more than 25 years experience in the industry. Having started his career with Sky, where he oversaw the production of four Ryder Cups, he has also taken on leading roles at Sunset + Vine for projects including ESPN rugby, the Grand National and Derby coverage for the BBC, ICC cricket in Bangladesh and India and leading successful bids for the World Equestrian Games, World Rugby Sevens Series as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
“I’m thrilled to be taking on this exciting new role,” said Tippett.
“We’ve had to withstand an incredibly challenging period at Sunset + Vine and the dedication of the staff has been crucial to seeing us through. While the current outlook is still relatively uncertain, we’re in a good position to continue our strong recovery from a difficult 2020 and I’m really looking forward to playing my part in that ongoing process and beyond.
“We will emerge stronger than before and build on our unrivalled reputation for creativity and innovation to deliver great coverage, shows and content for our clients. “
Commenting on the promotion, Sunset + Vine Chairman Jeff Foulser said: “In over 10 years with Sunset + Vine David has proved himself time and again handling some of the biggest projects this company has taken on and this promotion is well deserved. I’m really looking forward to working more closely with him as we move the business forward.”
Tippett takes on the role of Managing Director following the death of John Leach in 2020.
