BBC Sport has handed the contract to produce extensive coverage of the African Cup of Nations from Ghana early next year to sports production company Sunset+Vine.
Sunset+Vine were chosen ahead of a number of other top independents and Sunset+will produce both live and comprehensive highlights action on BBC3 and BBC interactive with the Final being shown live on BBC2.
The tournament, which will feature a number of Premiership players, takes place from January 20th to February 10th next year.
The African Cup of Nations consists of 16 teams in four groups with the top two from each qualifying for the knockout stages.
Sunset+Vine was also recently appointed by the BBC to produce live coverage of the Grand National from Aintree to follow its deal to produce the rest of the broadcaster’s horse racing.
