DAZN has acquired exclusive global broadcast rights to Super League Basketball (SLB), ahead of the inaugural season of the British elite men’s division.

As per the agreement, DAZN will air all matches throughout the 2024/25 season for free via a dedicated on-platform environment for the league. This will be available to viewers both domestically and internationally.

Serving as the league’s exclusive broadcaster, the UK-based media giant will aim to maximise exposure for SLB, and will look to engage new audiences globally.

SLB officially launched in August, becoming the new top tier of UK men’s basketball after its predecessor, the British Basketball League, had its operating license terminated by the British Basketball Federation in June due to financial issues.

The first SLB season will get underway on Friday 27th September.

“Over the last few years, DAZN has demonstrated its commitment to growing the sport by securing numerous international basketball rights,” said Vaughn Millette, Interim Chair of Super League Basketball.

“SLB’s addition to this line-up, means that fans will find a broadcast home for basketball on DAZN.

“Super League fans will be able to watch every game live and free to air as we take our place alongside the likes of France and Italy’s elite national basketball leagues. We can’t wait to get started.”

This week’s episode of The Game Plan podcast will take a closer look at SLB, before its first ever season tips off on Friday.
