Surrey CCC has extended its existing partnership with Octopus Investments as the Official Sponsor of the club’s T20 matches until at least 2016.

The new three year deal will see Octopus help Surrey deliver its match day experiences throughout the season, with the Cricktopus – a local cult hero in 2013 – set to become a T20 fixture.

With seven home ties next year, the county will also have the majority of games played as big Friday night matches.

Speaking this week Charlie Hodgson, commercial director of Surrey CCC, said: ‘Developing a long term relationship with our sponsors is hugely important to us so we’re delighted that Octopus Investments will be involved at the Kia Oval for at least the next three years.’

‘Friday night T20 at the Kia Oval has become one of London’s most popular summer nights out and it’s exciting that we can now work with Octopus to make it even better.’

Nigel Spencer, marketing director at Octopus Investments, added: ‘We’re really pleased to confirm our sponsorship of Surrey’s T20 matches for the next three years. Twenty20 is an innovative format that makes the exciting game of cricket accessible to large numbers of existing fans while attracting new followers to the sport and to Surrey CCC.’

‘Last season, the Surrey Twenty20 games not only provided us with the opportunity to treat our customers to some fantastic cricket and entertainment, but also allowed us to introduce Octopus to a much wider audience as a whole. We’re looking forward to seeing what next season will bring for both us and Surrey County Cricket Club.’

Surrey made the final of the tournament in 2013.
