Swansea City Launches In-app Ticketing
Swansea City has become the first club in the UK to offer in-app ticketing to their fans.
Sports Alliance helped the club create the app and worked with long-standing partners Ticketmaster and app developer Other Media.
Swans fans will be able to purchase their tickets online and display them via their mobile phones at the turnstile to gain entry to all football fixtures at the Liberty Stadium.
Key to the development has been the provision of the Single Sign On ‘Club Account’ product at Swansea City, a single online identity for the supporter across all platforms and applications, meaning that once signed in, the mobile app recognises the supporter as a Season Ticket Holder or Jack Army Member, and can also deliver tickets and barcodes for stadium entry, all in real time.
“In-App ticketing is a project we’ve been working hard towards since the successful launch of our new Official Swans App,” explained Swansea City’s digital media manager Rebecca Symmons.
“We’ve been informed that we are the first football club in the UK to introduce In-App ticketing which, if true, is an added bonus for the club and our fans.”
