Swansea City has renewed a major sponsorship agreement with financial services firm Goldenway, in what the club has described as ‘the largest agreement in the club’s proud 102-year history’.

The Chinese company will continue to serve as the Barclay’s Premier League side’s main sponsor for the next two years, with the logo of its GWFX brand set to remain on the side’s playing shirts until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Although financial terms of the latest agreement have not been revealed, British press reported last year that the initial one-year deal was worth around £2 million in total.

The partnership was renegotiated by sports marketing agency SportQuake, who will also assist in managing Goldenway’s Swansea-related sponsorship activities, which will specifically target fans in Asia.

Swansea’s vice-chairman Leigh Dineen said: ‘We are excited and delighted to extend our partnership with Goldenway for another two seasons and announce the biggest sponsorship deal in the club’s history.’

‘We have developed an excellent working relationship with Goldenway over the past 12 months that has been extremely beneficial to both parties. We are not only honoured to be backed by one of the world’s fastest growing financial services providers, but their prestigious presence throughout Asia has helped lift the club’s global brand to a whole new level.’

The deal comes on the same day as the Premier League released its fixtures for next season, with Swansea opening their 2014/15 campaign with a trip to Manchester United.
