Tag Heuer Clocks London Marathon Deal

Tag Heuer has been named as the official timekeeper and official watch for the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon, who will partner with the event for the first time next year.

The Swiss watch brand has previously sponsored the New York City, Chicago, Paris, Berlin and Moscow marathons.

Tag Heuer takes over from Timex, the official timekeeper of the 2015 edition of the race, which saw 37,000 runners take part, making it the biggest in the 35-year history of the race.

Jean-Claude Biver, the chief executive of Tag Heuer and president of the watch division of the LVMH Group, said: “The Virgin Money London Marathon perfectly embodies the TAG Heuer mindset of mental fortitude, perseverance and inner strength.

“Running 26.2 miles requires resilience and willpower and Tag Heuer is thrilled to endorse an event that challenges athletes of all abilities to go beyond the limits of their normal physical endurance.”

Hugh Brasher, the race director of the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon, added: “Tag Heuer is globally renowned as a maker of precision timekeeping instruments as their long association with Formula 1 motor racing attests.

“Tag Heuer is a perfect partner for the world’s greatest marathon and we look forward to a long and happy collaboration.”

The 2016 London Marathon will take place on 24th April.
