Following the disagreements between India Premier League and the English and Wales Cricket Board regarding the release of English players, there have been reports that a compromise has been posed which would hold parts of the Twenty20 tournament in England.
Moving some Twenty20 games to England would be a compromise by the IPL, and English cricket chiefs are now set to hold talks in January about the possible scheduling change.
The first Test between England and the West Indies is due to begin on 6 May and the ECB have stated they would allow their leading players up to two weeks to play in the IPL.
However, media reports suggested the tournament could begin in India on 10 April, then be in England for three weeks before returning to India for the final matches, with the competition due to finish on 29 May.
With more matches being played at home, it would give the English players longer to participate as a warm-up for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament beginning on 5 June.
