talkSPORT 2, the new 24-hour national sports radio, has secured exclusive UK radio rights to the remaining races of the 2016 MotoGP season.
In addition, the station will also broadcast every MotoGP race in 2017 as well as a significant number of Moto2 and Moto3 races.
As well as the live coverage on talkSPORT 2, there will be previews and reviews of every race on talkSPORT. It is the first time any major motorsport has been broadcast on national commercial radio in the UK.
Managing editor, talkSPORT 2, Mike Bovill said: “This is a massive coup for talkSPORT 2 and a continued sign of our commitment to bring the very best live sport to our new and growing audience.
“MotoGP has a huge global following and will be a great addition to a schedule that now boasts top-class Premier League and European football, Twenty20 cricket, international golf and tennis and the very best domestic rugby league and union.”
Meanwhile, talkSPORT has announced a number of new international rights deals that extend the broadcaster’s existing Premier League offering across China, Mexico, Bahrain and Nigeria.
As global audio partner of the Premier League, talkSPORT controls an exclusive package of international audio rights until 2019, allowing the station to broadcast official live commentary of all 380 Premier League matches in any language to listeners around the world, outside of the UK and Republic of Ireland.
