talkSPORT has announced a new partnership with Microsoft Office 365, who will become the official technology sponsor for the sports radio station’s live and exclusive British and Irish Lions radio commentary.
The partnership will run across a range of talkSPORT’s outlets including on-air, online, digital and in the station’s sister publication Sport magazine in the build up to and throughout the Tour.
The sponsorship deal with talkSPORT is part of UM London’s multi-million pound campaign for Microsoft’s cloud-based productivity software, Office 365.
Kel Murphy, creative solutions account manager, talkSPORT, said: ‘This year is the first time that The British and Irish Lions Tour has been broadcast solely by a commercial radio station in the UK, providing a unique opportunity for advertisers. To secure a global brand like Microsoft Office 365 as a sponsor is a great start to our in-depth Lions coverage over the upcoming months.’
talkSPORT announced in November that it would broadcast exclusive UK radio commentary of all ten matches of the 2013 British & Irish Lions Tour, including the three Tests against Australia and the warm up match in Hong Kong against the Barbarians.
Philippa Snare, CMO at Microsoft UK, added: ‘Microsoft Office 365 is our flagship productivity software hosted in, and delivered from, the cloud and combining the best creation, communications and collaboration tools from Microsoft.’
‘This campaign will give commuters and the UK business community an insight into the features and benefits of the new product, and encourage them to explore the ability to work from anywhere – in the office, at home and in between.’
The wider campaign kicked off on 28th February with online partnerships with Dennis and the Register. Both IT sites will be creating custom content to bring the Office 365 product to life, over a four month period.
A fleet of Office 365 taxis will also be hitting London streets in March, with passengers given the option to use NFC, or the free Wi-Fi, to visit a Microsoft for Business content hub that will house content from the various campaigns.
