The Scottish Football Association has confirmed that chief executive David
Taylor has quit to take up the post of general secretary at UEFA.
Under new president Michel Platini, UEFA approached Taylor to take over the
role left vacant by Lars-Christer Olsen’s departure whose tenure in turn had
ended after Platini defeated predecessor Lennart Johansson in the UEFA
presidential elections earlier this year.
Taylor, who joined the SFA in August 1999, will leave the Scottish FA at the
end of March to take up his new UEFA role in Switzerland.
The SFA has already begun the process of recruiting a new chief executive
with recruitment consultants Odgers Sports Practice appointed to assist in the
search.
John McBeth, SFA president, will assume the duties of the chief executive on
an interim basis until a successor is in place.
