Team GB has named media and entertainment company Global as its audio partner for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Global’s Heart, Capital, and Classic radio networks will provide live broadcasts from Team GB House, which will be the base for the team’s athletes, friends and family in Paris throughout the games.
These will be delivered in partnership with NatWest, which serves as Team GB’s official banking partner.
For the first time since it was first installed for the London 2012 games, Team GB House will be open to the general public throughout this summer’s games.
Global presenters, reporters and podcasters will produce content from the venue throughout the Olympics, which will take place between 26th July and 11th August in the French capital.
This will include behind-the-scenes interviews featuring UK sporting legends, live reactions, and medal celebrations with athletes.
As per the agreement, Global Orginal podcasts such as Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman’s ‘The Sports Agents’, and ‘Tom Dean Medal Machine’ will also deliver exclusive episodes from Team GB House.
Mike Gordon, Chief Commercial Officer at Global, said, “This year’s Olympics in Paris will be the closest to home since 2012 and it will rekindle the spirit of the Games right across the UK.
“We know our listeners want to feel part of significant cultural moments and in collaboration with NatWest, this partnership allows us to leverage our strength of bringing fans closer to the action.”
Tim Ellerton, Commercial Director at Team GB, added, “We know how much the support of the nation means to our athletes, so having Global’s audience behind them throughout the competition will be invaluable, and we look forward to working together to bring their stories to life.”
