Team INEOS has announced that it is set to be renamed as the INEOS Grenadiers, with the change to take place from the start of the rescheduled Tour de France, which begins on 29th August 2020.

According to the team, the change will align the cycling outfit with the new Grenadier – a model of 4×4 car designed, engineered and manufactured by INEOS Automotive and first announced in 2017 by INEOS’s owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The team’s new name and brand will officially launch in the week leading up to the Tour de France in Nice – where the 2020 edition of the event starts – and will see the team which has won seven of the last eight yellow jerseys change colours away from the burgundy it has worn since INEOS took over from Sky in 2019.

Grenadier’s design was unveiled in July 2020 and will go into production in late 2021.
