Team USA won the first-ever Anglo American Padel Cup against Great Britain, with the competition taking place at Padel Hub North London.

The United States secured a 53–43 victory over Great Britain in what has been described as the most significant international padel competition held in the UK to date.

Across two days of competition and 48 matches, 64 athletes from both nations competed in men’s, women’s and mixed divisions, with Team USA clinching victory in the penultimate match.

The event was founded by Ben Nichols, CEO and Founder of Padel 22, alongside Bill Ullman and Joelle Quinn. Title partners included Playtomic and Babolat, with supporting partners Pulco, Virgin Hotels Shoreditch, BERO, Calo, Sauna Spec and Atis.

Padel continues to grow rapidly in the UK, with participation figures exceeding 400,000 players according to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) — more than triple the total from 2024 — and 893 courts now operating across 300 venues nationwide. The sport’s expansion has attracted investment and participation from public figures such as Andy Murray, Stormzy and Lily James.

Padel’s professional structure also continues to evolve. Following the 2023 merger between the World Padel Tour and Premier Padel, a single unified global circuit now operates under the governance of the International Padel Federation.

Ben Nichols will be joining Dylan Pugh on The Game Plan podcast in the coming weeks to discuss the Anglo American Padel Cup, the commercial future of the event, and the growth of padel across the UK and internationally.
