Teamer has expanded its platform after confirming it will be integrating its new Teamer Payments service with Apple Pay as part of the company’s launch of a new sports payments service within its iPhone application.

Teamer, shortlisted for a BT Sport Industry Award earlier this year, has grown to over 2.3 million members and is growing rapidly in the UK, USA, Australia and other international markets; now being used in over 50 countries.

Teamer Payments launched in January 2015 in partnership with payments provider Stripe, enabling sports teams and clubs to collect money easily online from their members.

Robert Mattar, Teamer CEO, said: “Teamer strives to bring the best possible experience for organising your sports team or club online to our growing community of members.

“We believe that leading edge web and mobile apps can solve many of the issues that exist in the grassroots sports market today. Helping teams and clubs organise  and collect funds are two big issues that can be improved significantly in community sport. With the launch of Apple Pay within Teamer’s iPhone app, we want to continue to lead the way in delivering fantastic solutions into the sports market.”

Ian O’Sullivan, Teamer commercial director, added: “The move to online and mobile payments will inevitably accelerate over the coming years. Clubs no longer want to collect cash and cheques because of the time it takes and the risks involved. Teamer Payments is the simple, cost effecting and secure solution that many clubs have been searching for.”
