The BBC will show highlights of every England Test and One Day International cricket match from July, ensuring Test cricket returns to the broadcaster’s channels for first time since 1999.
Presented by 2009 Cricket World Cup winner Isa Guha, the highlights shows will begin on 8th July at 7pm presenting coverage from the first Test match between England and the West Indies at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan and England’s record Test run-scorer Sir Alastair Cook will also join Guha on the coverage, while West Indies’ 2016 World T20 winner Carlos Brathwaite, broadcaster Alison Mitchell and former England spinner Phil Tufnell provide commentary for the TV highlights.
The BBC says the series against the West Indies will be followed by further programmes throughout the summer once the international cricket calendar is confirmed
“We are delighted to welcome back Test match cricket highlights to BBC TV,” said Barbara Slater, Director of Sport, BBC.
“Along with broadcasting some of the best classic matches from over the decades, the coverage will provide the perfect mix for cricket fans this summer.”
The broadcaster will also screen retrospectives on some of England’s most memorable matches against the West Indies in the build-up to July’s cricketing return.
Throughout June, Guha will present a series of highlights programmes, telling the stories of classic games between the two
