TGL, the new golf league launched by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports venture, has named luxury car brand Genesis as its first founding partner.

The deal comes ahead of TGL’s inaugural season, which is slated for January 2025.

TGL joins the Hyundai-owned car manufacturer’s expansive partnership portfolio in golf, which includes events such as the Scottish Open, Presidents Cup and DP World Tour.

TMRW Sports was recently valued at $500m (£394.1m), after closing a Series A funding round led by Dynasty Equity and Connect Ventures.

Mike Song, Global Head of Genesis, said, “We take the same approach with our golf partnerships and believe in TGL’s mission to harness technology to build a truly unique platform that blends golf, media, and entertainment.

“We’re eager for the launch of TGL this January and bringing Genesis’ audacious and distinctly Korean brand DNA to a whole new generation of golfers and golf fans through this exciting new team golf platform.”

When TGL launches next year, the league will comprise six teams, each with four PGA Tour players.
