The EFL and Smart Energy GB have extended their partnership for a further year, continuing to help football fans across England and Wales manage their energy use.
The new one-year agreement builds on the successful collaboration between the English Football League (EFL) and Smart Energy GB that began in 2022.
Through the partnership, fans have been provided with information and resources to understand their energy consumption better and how smart meters can offer more visibility and control over their bills.

Smart Energy GB has engaged almost 740,000 people over the past two years via community programs, club charity venues, and match-day activities, using the extensive reach of EFL clubs to spread awareness.
Currently, two-thirds of all UK households have smart meters, offering more accurate bills and the ability to track energy usage in near real-time.
As in previous years, Smart Energy GB will continue to engage supporters at major EFL Finals at Wembley Stadium and through a variety of community initiatives throughout 2025, driving further adoption of smart meters across the UK.
Ben Wright, EFL Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We look forward to continuing the work between the EFL, EFL in the Community and the network of 72 Clubs and Club charities to reach people in low-income areas and those who may find digital technology more challenging.
“The partnership between the EFL and Smart Energy GB is part of the wider work being done by the League, EFL in the Community and our Clubs to make changes across the game in environmental sustainability.”
