The English Football League has extended its longstanding partnership with the football management simulation title, Football Manager.

The new agreement ensures all 72 EFL teams and its five competitions will remain fully licensed in the upcoming Football Manager 26. The partnership, which has been in place since 2004, will also see the two organisations collaborate on shared content initiatives.

The announcement follows a record-breaking 2024/25 season for the EFL.

The league also highlighted Football Manager 24’s success, which saw over 8.6m unique careers started with EFL clubs, a 473% increase on the previous edition of the game.

Ben Wright, Chief Commercial Officer at the EFL, said, “We’re incredibly proud to run some of the world’s most watched and respected competitions, with a fan base that continues to grow both in the UK and abroad.

“Football Manager has been a much-loved part of football fan culture over many years, and we’re delighted to extend a long-standing partnership which brings the excitement of EFL football directly to fans’ fingertips and creates more opportunities for us to engage with them throughout the season.”
