Tottenham Hotspur has revealed a major extension to the club’s Nike kit deal, which will see the partnership run until 2033.

News of the additional 15-year agreement was included in a financial statement posted on Spurs’ official club website.

It read: “In recent months we [THFC] have secured an extended agreement with Nike up to 2033, one of the longest football club deals in Nike’s history. We have also announced a number of new brand partners including, amongst several others, Audi, IWC Schaffhausen, HPE and EA SPORTS.”

Spurs’ original deal with Nike was inked in the summer of 2017, and was valued at the time at an estimated £30m a season.

The extension represents a significant commercial boost for the north London club, which has so far failed in its attempts to find a naming rights partner for the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 62,000-seater venue, believed to cost around £1bn, has suffered a string of delays that have seen its planned opening pushed back from September to early 2019.

Commenting on the situation, club chairman Daniel Levy told fans: “We are experiencing frustrating times – however every now and then someone reminds us of just what we have undertaken and achieved to date – and what this stadium will be like for generations to come – and that keeps us going.

“Thank you to all who have sent messages of encouragement. It is much appreciated by those involved in this challenging project.”

Levy added: “Our investment has been supported by over £100m investment in transport infrastructure which will see the stadium and the local area served by one of the best public transport networks in the country – facilitating the creation of a new sport, leisure and entertainment destination in London.

“The delay in the stadium opening has made it possible for some track and station improvements to be brought forward due to the fact that previously non-available construction dates have become available for works.

“We have no doubt when open that this stadium will be one of the finest in the world – a leading example of British research and development delivering engineering and technological firsts that will be showcased globally.”
