Travel operator Thomas Cook has enhanced its football sponsorship portfolio by extending its relationship with Premier League club Chelsea in a new four-year deal.
The new contract, reportedly worth around £1.5m a year, extends the current arrangement making the tour operator the Premier League leader’s official travel partner.
Thomas Cook, which also holds a shirt sponsorship deal with Manchester City, will be a platinum partner of Chelsea and continue to arrange all travel for the team and its officials in the UK and abroad.
The tour operator will also provide travel packages to domestic and European games for the club’s supporters.
The extension of the 2006 deal, which was worth £1m a year, sees Thomas Cook join a number of Chelsea’s sponsorship partners at the new platinum level of association including shirt sponsors Samsung, kit makers Adidas and Abu Dhabi airline Etihad.
