Three UK has celebrated the start of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League (WSL) season with a new artwork series promoting its partnership with Chelsea Women.

The brand is the Principal Shirt Sponsor for the WSL Champions, and has teamed up with Instagram artist and photographer Rich McCor – aka @Paperboyo – to create images of Chelsea players in iconic areas.

The artworks were created from paper, and show off Chelsea players in their new Three UK sponsored kits, worn for the first time during their 1-1 away draw to Manchester United in the season opener.

The images see Beth England scoring an overhead kick using the Manchester’s Hulme Bridge as a goal, while goalkeeper Carly Telford is seen saving a shot in front of the Out of Order tumbling down phone boxes sculpture in Kingston, just down the road from Chelsea’s home ground at Kingsmeadow.

A final image sees Sam Kerr sitting in the changing room getting ready for matchday.

The artwork, commissioned by Three UK, aims to celebrate the return of women’s football and raise awareness of the women’s game, especially among fans new to the sport.
