Commonwealth Games England has appointed sports marketing agency Threepipe Sport to help launch a new brand identity and to raise awareness of the sponsorship opportunities around the team, as they prepare for Delhi 2010.
CGE, which is responsible for the selection, preparation and management of Team England for the Commonwealth Games, has hired Threepipe Sport is to raise consumer awareness of the new Team England brand positioning and logo.
The branding was recently re-designed by design agency Corporate Edge, alongside the use of social and digital media to engage directly with sports fans and young people.
Threepipe Sport will also be tasked with raising awareness of the new range of commercial sponsorship opportunities that have been created around Team England, offering brands the chance to be associated with a national, elite sporting property in the build up to Delhi 2010, the last major multi-sport event to take place before London 2012.
An early part of the activity will also see Threepipe Sport helping to raise awareness around the Queen’s Baton Relay, the traditional forerunner to each Commonwealth Games, as it makes its way around England, before heading across the Commonwealth and finally arriving in Delhi for the opening ceremony in 2010.
