Tic Tac is running a viral ad campaign re-creating Everton’s extra-time winner in their FA Cup tie with Liverpool, coverage of which on ITV1 was controversially interrupted by a technical error.

Due to a production error with ITV’s automated advertising system, a Tic Tac ad interrupted the match just as the crucial goal was scored.

As way of an apology the brand is running a viral campaign, created by its incumbent advertising agency WCRS, the re-lives Dan Gosling’s goal using men dressed in Tic Tac outfits.

The 20-second viral  sees two teams of orange and lime Tic Tacs re-enact the goal on a freezing cold day on the Hackney Marshes, in a bid to give a ‘little lift’ to the disappointed football supporters.
