TMRW Sports has signed a strategic partnership with the International Golf Federation (IGF), which will aim to leverage new technologies to help drive participation in golf.
As per the agreement, the IGF’s 152 member federations and 22 professional tours will use TMRW’s technology to help make the sport more accessible.
Last month, TMRW reached a valuation of $500m (£390.8m), after the closing of a Series A funding round led by Dynasty Equity and Connect Ventures.
The tech-driven golf organisation was founded in 2022 by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, as well as sports business executive Mike McCarley.
TMRW’s new TGL golf league is set for launch next January, and will feature six teams, each with four PGA Tour players.
Anthony Scanlon, Executive Director of the IGF, said, “We believe in TMRW Sports’ vision to blend virtual and live competition to inspire new fans and bring them closer to the sport of golf.
“After experiencing how they are using technology with TGL, we recognise the increasing potential growth of golf through new tech-infused forms of the sport and how we can more effectively engage broader – and emerging – audiences to increase participation, especially among younger and non-traditional golfers.
“TMRW Sports’ approach to reach new fans and participants is another example of innovation within the sport that will help fuel continued growth and participation worldwide.”
