The combined revenue of the 20 richest league football clubs has exceeded €4 billion for the first time according to the latest version of the Deloitte Football Money League.
Deloitte stated that the new research proves the impressive resilience of the game despite the global economic troubles around the world.
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are first and second respectively, with the top six remaining unchanged from last year’s list.
While Spain look to control the top two spots for some time, England retains the highest representation from a single country.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea all held on to their previous positions of third, fifth and sixth, respectively, while Liverpool dropped one place to eighth.
Manchester City, following the club’s acquisition by Sheikh Mansour last year, are one of the highest climbers, moving up nine places to 11th, their highest ever position. The club recorded its highest ever revenues, with an increase of £38m (44%) to £125m (€153m), the largest absolute and relative growth of any Money League club this year.
