Tough Mudder UK has today announced new dates to its 2021 season, which will see it enable record numbers to return to the mass participation obstacle course race this year.

The 2021 season will now kick-off in mid-summer at Tough Mudder Scotland on 3rd and 4th July, before taking in a West London event on 17th and 18th July.

Further events will take place across London as well as Yorkshire, the Midlands and the South West in July, August and September, before a final scheduled event will take place at South London’s Morden Park in October. One further event in Manchester will be confirmed in due course, with Tough Mudder confirming that the venue is currently being used as a coronavirus testing centre.

Tough Mudder – a Sport Industry NextGen 2021 partner – says it has been working with local authorities as well as the World Health Organisation in order to put in place Covid-secure plans, with some 60,000 tickets already sold.

“Alongside our expert-backed Covid event plans, these calendar changes are the most meaningful way we’re able to ensure people can get back on course this season,” said Matt Brooke, Managing Director, Tough Mudder UK and Spartan UK, which acquired Tough Mudder in February 2020.

“These changes give people more clarity and more opportunity to get a date in the diary, commit to a new challenge, and really, have something to look forward to after what have been very difficult months in the UK.

“We’ve also been liaising with our peers in the mass participation sporting industry around the world, who right now are successfully hosting Covid-safe events in locations across the US, the Middle East and APAC.

“Through changes to our event scheduling, the roll-out of our new training programmes and virtual fitness challenges that can be done at home, we’re doing everything we can to bring some normality back to our community’s lives.”

Tough Mudder says it has also introduced a new start time selection tool, which not only ensures participant safety and adherence to COVID-safe policies, but allows them to choose the start-wave of their choice.

Brooke added: “Our Mudders now have choice at their fingertips when it comes to planning their experience and with 60,000 people already locked in for the season, popular wave times are already selling out.”
