Tour Of Britain 2013 Route Revealed

Organisers have revealed that the 2013 Tour of Britain, which celebrates its tenth edition this year,  will start in Scotland on 15th September before finishing with a 10-lap stage of London on 22nd September.

The Tour will also feature a summit finish for the first time in the history of the race on stage six at Haytor on Dartmoor, while stage three will involve a 1-mile time trial around Knowsley Safari Park. The longest stage of the tour will be the 140 mile route around Cumbria and the Lake District, finishing In Kendal.

Race director Mick Bennett said: ‘This will definitely be the most challenging Tour of Britain yet.’ The riders will finish the race on Whitehall following their 10 circuits around the city. Among laast year’s riders were Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.
