Nottinghamshire CCC has confirmed that the £8.2m funding required to increase
the capacity of its Trent Bridge cricket ground is now in place and that work
will begin shortly.
The redevelopment, which will see the ground capacity rise to more than
17,000, includes the construction of a new stand, on the Bridgford Road side of
the ground, to replace West Wing and Parr Stand, while there are also plans to
install permanent floodlights.
Work will begin on 28th August with all the redevelopment scheduled to be
completed for England’s June 2008 Test match against New Zealand.
Funding has come from East Midlands Development Agency and three local
authorities – Rushcliffe Borough Council, Nottingham City Council and
Nottinghamshire County Council.
