Former England batsman and current Somerset captain Marcus Trescothick has been officially unveiled as a brand ambassador for Friends Life, title sponsors of the Friends Life t20 competition.
The partnership with the insurance company begins immediately and runs for the duration of the 2013 season, and will see the opening batsman become the face of the brand’s cricket programme, as well as giving fans the chance to win a masterclass with the man himself at Lord’s cricket ground.
Trescothick’s appointment is part of Friends Life continued association with cricket to drive awareness of the insurance company’s sponsorship with the England and Wales Cricket Board as title sponsors of the domestic t20 competition.
Marcus Trescothick said: ‘I’m delighted to be an ambassador for Friends Life who have a long standing association with cricket, and over the past few years have become an integral part of the domestic t20 competition. I look forward to working with them during a very exciting season in English cricket.’
Friends Life is not expected to renew its title sponsorship of the domestic competition when it expires later this year.
