Sports tech brand Polar has announced a new partnership with triathlete Vicky Holland.

The Briton, who won bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and currently sits second in the overall World Triathlon Series 2018, will front a campaign for Polar’s wearable fitness products.

The partnership will focus on educating athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike about the effective use of data in enhancing athletic performance.

Holland, who is targeting another Olympic medal in Tokyo 2020, commented on the new agreement, saying: “Monitoring and tracking your data is vital as an athlete and I’m delighted to be partnering with Polar.

“Having access to highly accurate wearable technology will allow me and my coach to analyse my all-important training sessions in even more detail. Ensuring I get the most out of training as well as maximising recovery are both incredibly important and the support of the data that Polar provides will be valuable at a significant time in my career.”

Lucy Johnson, marketing director at Polar, added: “Vicky is a fantastic ambassador for Polar, an athlete who has worked tirelessly to reach the pinnacle of her sport. She will be a great inspiration to both fellow triathletes and wider fitness fans and we’re excited to be working with her at an exciting time for both Vicky personally and Polar as a brand.”

The partnership was announced as Holland prepares for the World Triathlon Series grand final in Gold Coast, Australia, in September.

The Briton goes into the last race of the season with a chance to lift the overall trophy, following wins in Montreal, Edmonton and Leeds.
