Premier League club Manchester United has signed a sponsorship deal with Turkish Airlines.

The three and a half year contract will see the airline company replace Air Asia to become the team’s official transporter.

The deal can be seen as a positive for the club, whose parent company Red Football Joint Venture, has recently announced that the club’s debts have risen above £700m.

The accounts recently showed by Manchester United’s parent group revealed that sponsorship income had grown 48% in the past year. Those figures did not include the shirt deal with American finance group Aon that starts next season and is worth £80m.
