Sport content activation agency, TVC Sport and Sponsorship, has won a competitive pitch for the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to deliver a PR campaign around the Marriott London Sevens in 2015.
The tournament, which takes place on 16th and 17th May at Twickenham Stadium, is the final event on the HSBC Sevens World Series.
TVC has been briefed to support ticket sales for the event and build excitement in the lead up to the galactic themed weekend.
TVC’s head of sport, Ben Barker, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the RFU on this brief. It’s an exciting time for rugby with a home World Cup and sevens now an Olympic sport. We looked at the opportunity to both engage current sevens supporters and reach new fans with the fast paced and shortened form of the game. We’re looking forward to working with the RFU to build on the tournament’s growing success.”
Barry Aherne, RFU event marketing manager, added: “We are looking forward to working with TVC Sport and Sponsorship on this year’s tournament. They demonstrated a clear understanding of the brief and our objectives as well as a passion for Rugby Sevens.”
