To celebrate the opening weekend of the Premier League season, Twitter has offered fans a new way to show support for their club with the launch of special Twitter emojis.
emojis will now show up when any user Tweets using specific dedicated hashtags during the opening weekend. The feature will be live until midnight on Monday following MNF, but will return at various key moments throughout the season, such as #DeadlineDay and the final run-in.
Official match hashtags used this weekend also triggered the club crests alongside one another, such as #MUNTOT.
Meanwhile, #BPL and #BPLKickoff triggered a scaled down Premier League trophy, whilst #FPL triggered the Premier League crest
